What is an adaptive cycle?

An Adaptive bike is custom made for each individual and allows kids who have balance and coordination challenges to experience the freedom and fun that only riding a bike can give.   Adaptive bikes feature a 3 or 4 wheeled design that is custom made and adapted to the specific needs of the recipient.  Each Adaptive bike is custom built so that it addresses each child’s particular needs.   With special features such as rear steering and brake control, high-back seats with a harness and head restraint, and a unique direct drive pedaling system these bikes are truly unique.

Adaptive bikes provide an opportunity for recreation, fitness, therapy, mobility and most importantly, self-esteem for kids with special needs such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Angelman Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, and the visually impaired.  Join us wont you, in giving the gift of cycling freedom!
